The 'Big Brother' phenomenon originated from Holland and has swooped across the globe, coming here to the UK, but also to; Germany, Italy, Spain and America.
The concept has changed over the years but the basic principle is that members of the public are put in a house, watched all around by cameras and are asked to do a few tasks to help them get through the week. But for the most part are doing nothing.
They are asked to nominate fellow house mates for eviction every Tuesday and the two house mates that receive the most votes put their names forward for the public vote. The public then vote for the house mate they want to leave, and the one that gets the most votes is evicted on the Friday night. The eviction show is hosted by Davina McCall.
The contestants are whittled down to the last one who wins the show and receives a cash prize of...
