'Murder Most Horrid' is a grisly comedy series starring one half of comedy duo French and Saunders, Dawn French.
The show lasted for just four series, airing between 1991 and 1999. In each episode Dawn starred as the main character who somehow became embroiled in a murder, whether she was the murderess, the accessory or the murder victim herself!
The show was written by a number of people including 'Have I Got News For You' panelist Ian Hislop and was directed by various people such as Dewi Humphries and Bob Spiers who have also directed 'Absolutely Fabulous.'
My favorite series of 'Murder Most Horrid' is series three. Six wonderful episodes including one where Dawn plays the Prime Minister's wife, played by Hugh Laurie. A primary school teacher who couldn't add twelve and two was comedy gold!
