'Tonight Matthew, I'm going to be....'
Classic music gameshow originally hosted by Leslie Crowther but most famously presented by Matthew Kelly.
'Stars In Their Eyes' gives regular members of the public a chance to emulate their favourite music artists. Contestants come on stage, talk to the host about their everyday life, their family, their job etc, then give away a few clues about who they are going to be. Then finally they reveal their new identity for that night only, by citing the classic phrase: 'Tonight Matthew, I'm going to be....' They then disappear through the 'star door' then reappear seemingly moments later through a cloud of smoke as the star of their choice, magic!
The original format involved five contestants who each gave their performance and the winner was then voted for by the audience, the winner then went...
