In the new millennium the BBC commissioned a university graduate to write a new sitcom. The result of Susan Nickson's lucky break into the media was her creation; 'Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps.'
Starring 'The Royle Family's' Ralf Little and Sheridan Smith, the sitcom centres around the lives of five young characters all looking for love, careers and a good time.
Also starring former 'Hollyoaks' stars Natalie Casey and Will Mellor and a relatively unknown actress Kathryn Drysdale.
Creator Susan Nickson admits to being lazy, creating characters for the show based on people she knows in real life. Whether it was lazy writing, the characters are recognisably familiar for the shows target audience.
